CONTINUING its anti-encroachment operation here on Tuesday, the City District Government Lahore (CDGL) removed several structures from one of the city’s main markets Anarkali Bazzar.

The operation was carried out by Data Ganj Town special squad, which cleared 35 Tharay from Anarkali and other structures. The operation was planned to take place on Monday but when the teams went there they faced a strong reaction of traders. The teams left that day and gave one day time to the traders.

The anti encroachment operation was also carried out in other areas as Aziz Bhatti Town special squad removed 8 counters from Al-Faisal Town union council number 59 and also took 22 cattle into custody from Ranjhe Ki Havali, Ayaz Town, Tajpura and Tajbagh.

Another operation in Allama Iqbal Town special squad took the custody of 12 cattle motor machines, boards, gas pipe, takht posh, Hath Rarian, Chairs, benches and tables from Al-Madina Road, Main Market and Town Ship. The squad also ordered to shift 925 cattle out of the city.

Meanwhile, the CDGL also claimed to have killed 44 mad dogs and buried them at different dumping sites. These dogs were killed in the areas of Begum Kot, Shahdra, Sheikhupura, Shadbagh, Gawalmandi, Town Ship, College Road, Wahdat Road and Muslim Town.
