The Master Plan of Karachi is a legal document; hence all the land in Karachi must be allotted under this document. Avoiding the Master Plan would only increase the problems faced by Karachi and they will never be solved.

This was stated by City Nazim Mustafa Kamal during an informal talk with journalists at his office on Sunday.

He further said that the Master Plan was not just a document but a law, and society could help make it better with the implementation of certain rules and regulations.

Kamal said that the City District Government Karachi (CDGK) had fulfilled its responsibility of preparing the Master Plan for the city, and would approve it soon; but, he added, the CDGK does not have the police force to implement it. It is now the duty of all stakeholders in Karachi to plan and execute their works according to this Master Plan including construction and allotment of all kinds of land within their jurisdiction, he said.

He said that everything had been clearly explained in the Master Plan. Therefore, utility services should be laid according to this document otherwise it would be hard to supply basic utilities to the citizens, added Kamal.
