MOHSIN Syed, chairman of the Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority, has said that Tevta is trying its best to offer short courses in the field of agriculture.

According to a press statement issued on Friday, he was speaking at a certificate distribution ceremony for the participants of two-month long Artificial Insemination Technician Training Programme at the Tevta Secretariat. Mohsin Syed said Tevta, in collaboration with ProFarm Pakistan (Pvt) Ltd (a Holland based agri-company), had successfully started the training course in artificial insemination at the Govt Technical Training Institute, Okara, to enhance milk production through better breeds.

Elaborating the details of the course, he said Tevta had arranged classrooms, examination and certification for the course while the ProFarm Pakistan (Pvt) had managed master trainer, development of training curriculum, on-the-job training and employment opportunities. He said out of 65 successful participants of the course, 42 had got jobs while others were doing their own business.

ProFarm Pakistan Managing Director Steven Schulting, member of the Tevta Board/President Board of Management, Okara, Mian Shahid Rafi, Board of Management, Sahiwal, President Mian Muhammad Saeed Akhtar, Tevta officials, teachers and students were also present on the occasion.
