Lahore: The Commissioner of Lahore, who is also the Lahore Ring Road Authority Chairman, Abdullah Sumbal said that the development work on Lahore Ring Road (LRR)’s Southern Loop (SL) has entered its final phase, and it will be completed by the end of November, according to a new source. He surveyed the site and received a briefing on the project.

The project, which is being developed at a cost of PKR 250 million, has been undertaken on a private-public partnership basis. Sumbal was told that the earthwork on LRR’s SL-I and SL-II has been completed by 90%, while the asphalt work on roads is in process. He was also informed that the drainage work and electrification for SL-I and SL-II have been completed, while the laying of fibre optic cables, and the installation of equipment and toll booths is in process.

Overall, about 86% of the work has been completed on the 22.35 kilometre route. Sumbal was also told that the development of the 9.35 kilometre long SL-I and 13 kilometre long SL-II will be completed within deadline.
