LDA's action against illegal subdivisions of land
RECORDER REPORT
LAHORE (November 06 2008): Boundary walls and other structures, which had been constructed for illegal sub-divisions of land, in Canal Burg Housing Scheme, Multan road, were demolished during a joint operation carried out by the Town Planning Wing, Estate Management Directorate and Metropolitan Planning Wing of Lahore Development Authority (LDA).

This was revealed by a LDA's spokesman here on Wednesday. According to the spokesman that many complaints had been received regarding illegal sub-division adjacent to plot No 10 Block-G. The area of sub-division was 10 to 15 Kanals. All the constructions done for the sub-division purpose were removed during the operation.

Moreover, the LDA staff also sealed a number of properties that were illegally being used for commercial purposes, which included six shops constructed on property No 16-H, and another six shops on property No 4-A and 2-A. All these shops are sealed by the staff of LDA.

Residential property No 13-C was also sealed because it was being used illegally for school. A house, which had been illegally constructed on the site of mosque/graveyard, was also sealed during the operation. A total of six boundary walls that had been constructed on various plots without getting approval of building plan by LDA were also demolished. These included boundary wall on property No 33 Block-H, plot No 8 and 9 block-F, and property No 10-G, No 21 and 22 Block-H.
