Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has said that all government land would be distributed among the poor and homeless for them to build their houses.

Shah was addressing a public meeting in SITE organised by Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Karachi.

The chief minister said that the present PPP government represented the masses who had made sacrifices for democracy. He said that the government

initiated the Sasti Basti programme and the Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Youth Development Programme to train the youth of the country.

Shah said that the federal government had also started the Benazir Income Support Programme, under which 3.5million people would each be paid Rs1000 monthly.

Taking notice of the dilapidated condition of the roads of the area, Shah promised reconstruction of these roads. A new hospital would also be constructed in the area.

He said that water, power and sewerage problems would also be resolved on a priority basis.
