Friday, January 08, 2016 - Lahore—Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) launched a three phase cleanliness and awareness drive at metropolitan’s major highway i.e. Lahore Ring Road, particularly tapping Baabu Saabu, Bati Chowk, Quaid-e-Azam and Mehmood Boooti and Harbanspura Interchange with aim to once make it zero waste and more importantly, to sensitise commuters on maintaining clean and healthy environment by avoiding litter on road from their vehicles.

Team of LWMC and Albayrak, led by Senior Manger Operations Suhail Anwar Malik, held a walk at Harbans Pura Ring Road toll plaza to highlight the importance of initiative.

Teams comprised of Manager Operation Ali Bajwa, Assistant Managers Muhammad Umair Khan, Rehman Rashid, Bilal Ibrahim, Omer Fiaz, Sadia Rafique, Zonal officers and social mobilizers briefed commuters about need of use of waste bags and bins to keep surrounding clean.

Hundreds of customized Waste bags were provided to vehicles travelling on ring road. Some 100 sanitary workers along with washing vehicles took part in cleanup& washing operation. Ring Road Authority highly appreciated the drive terming it fruitful in maintaining clean environment in support with general public. Drive will be extended to other interchanges of Ring Road in upcoming days.
