Rawalpindi—Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) is working on mega projects on fast track, to facilitate the residents, said Director Engineering Asghar Warriach.
He informed that sufficient funds are available for the completion of ongoing projects.
Talking to APP, he said that construction and carpeting of airport Road would be completed this year at a cost of Rs 540 million. Giving details of other ongoing projects, he said that a sewerage line would be laid from Chohan Chowk upto Koral Chowk while remodeling of Ammar Chowk and Kutchery Chowk is also under consideration, terming them of vital importance.
Elaborating he said there is traffic load and congestion due to VVIP movement on this route. He said that construction of underpasses is also under consideration to overcome traffic jams and added that funds would be demanded from Punjab Government to complete the mega project. He further said that remodeling of Mall Road would be done by National Highway Authority NHA while work is in progress on Bostan Road at a fast pace. He said that work on Scheme III Lahore High Court Road at a cost of Rs 500 million would be completed by June.
