ISLAMABAD: Capital Development Authority (CDA) has razed around 165 illegal kiosks from the capital According to the CDA official, there are 250 illegal kiosks in violation of master plan of the capital. A senior official of the authority said Capital Development Authority has launched operation against illegal kiosks after launching first information report (FIR) by Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) He said that operation was conducted against kiosks whose occupation violated the city’s master plan. He said there are approximately 250 such kiosks that will be razed.

CDA has demolished around 165 kiosks so far in various sectors of the city and in Daman-e-Koh, he added. According to CDA officials, the kiosks had allegedly been licenced in the past, particularly by previous government. Dozens of kiosk owners visited the CDA office to register their complaints. “We have a valid licence, but the team demolished our stalls,” said an owner of kiosk, who had been operating a stall at Daman-e-Koh.
