Islamabad: The computerisation of land records in the federal capital has been facing serious lags and only 30 percent of the process has been completed in the past six years.

According to Faisal Liaqat, an official of Accountancy Outsourcing Services, an organisation in liaison with Islamabad Capital Territory Administration, the sluggish progress is because records are yet to be updated by patwaris.

“Land records of just 33 mouzas out of a total 112 mouzas have been computerised,” Liaqat told Zameen.com. “Work simply cannot be completed until updated records are provided.”

He added that out of the four service centres to be established to facilitate the public in matters related to land revenue and management, only one has been formed so far in Bhara Kahu. The remaining centres will be established after all land records have been computerised.
