The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has given a deadline of 10 days to owners of residential buildings in the different sectors of Islamabad to end commercial activities on their premises.

A spokesman of CDA on Friday said the CDA has decided to take strict action against all those premises which are violating the rules and regulations by using residential properties for commercial purposes.

In this connection, 10 days time will be given to the violators to abolish/remove commercial activities from all residential premises in different sectors of Islamabad, after that authority will initiate strict action to remove all commercial ventures from the capital city.

The spokesman said the violators are being informed through public notice in the media that residential properties in Islamabad which are to be used as residential premises only, have been put to non-conforming use by establishing commercial activities in violation of Islamabad Residential Sectors Zoning (Building Control) Regulations-2005 and CDA ordinance 1960. “These buildings must be brought back into conforming use within 10 days from issuance of the said notice, failing which CDA shall be constrained to cancel the allotment of the property besides sealing the premises and imposition of fines under the law,” he said.

It may be pointed out here that following directives from Islamabad High Court , the CDA has time and again warned the violators to remove non-conforming use besides issuing notices, imposition of fines, sealing of many premises in different areas of Islamabad. Now, CDA has given final days notice to the violators after that uniform, indiscriminate and strict action will be taken against all violators.
