Naib Nazim, SITE Town, Syed Badshah Khan, on Tuesday directed Town Municipal Officer (Regulation) to impose heavy fines on people involved in encroachment. He took the decision after visiting various localities of the town.

Khan said that local town administration will not tolerate any hurdle in civic affairs and any one found involved in this act will face serious administrative actions. During his visit, he pointed out several illegal constructions and encroachment in some areas and directed the concerned department to remove them.

“Whenever the town starts any campaign against land mafia, they try to misguide local people by saying that the town administration is conducting operation on racial discrimination. But this is not true at all,” Khan explained.

During the recent general operation against encroachment, he added, all street traders and pushcarts were removed from streets and roundabouts but, after sometimes the land mafia again occupied these places and created traffic problems and other issues.

PPI adds: Korangi Town Nazim Advocate Mohammad Arif Khan inspected the laying work of 12-inch-diametre sewerage pipeline from 9000 Road to Bhai Jan Chowk on Tuesday.

Talking to people on this occasion, the Nazim said the laying work of the sewerage line has been started and after its completion, the people of Union Council (UC) 7 will get major relief.

MALIR TOWN: Acting Nazim Malir Town Sharafat Ali has expressed concern over wastage of 400 admission seats in Liaquat Government Degree Girls Science and Arts College and called for steps to avoid such education losses.

This he said while talking to college principal Prof. Saeeda Amir who called on him at his office. Amir told the Nazim that there were accommodation of 500 admission seats in the college but only 100 admissions were given. She said that there is a vacant plot in college where library and new building can be built to upgrade the college to B.Sc level. The Nazim assured the college principal of his full support in resolving the issues being faced by the college.

SHAH FAISAL TOWN: Acting Town Nazim Karimuddin has said that the city government believes in serving people without any discrimination and provides all the basic amenities of life to them on priority basis.

This he said while inspecting cleanliness and lighting arrangements on the occasion of Diwali, in Moriya Khan Goth at Chhota Gate on Tuesday. He wished greetings to Hindu community on Diwali and assured them that people’s representatives are with them.
