he Punjab government has directed the concerned departments in the provincial capital to give priority to the uplifting schemes proposed by the government.
The government has also ordered the local administration to hold meetings with the elected representatives to start their development projects immediately after the monsoon. Sources revealed that it seems the government issued such directions of speeding up the development work in consultation with MPs are part of preparations for the upcoming local bodies elections.
The CDGL is already working on over 500 ongoing miscellaneous and different natured development schemes in the provincial capital and in case the district administration gave priority to the proposed schemes of the MPs, the number of these projects could be increased up to 5000 approximately or more.
