The City District Government Lahore (CDGL) has decided to demolish 88 old buildings located in different vicinities of Lahore.

Local government authorities have already issued notices to the owners of such buildings, which have been declared dangerous. The owner will have to pay all the demolition charges.

Commissioner Lahore Division Abdullah Sumbal directed the district administration to issue notices to the owners of old buildings, in the light of the survey recently conducted in the city. He has also directed to issue seven days warning notices to the owners of repairable buildings and one month notice to the owners of old buildings that will be demolished in any case.

It is essential to carried out demolishment before the upcoming monsoon season in order to save hundreds of lives and to avoid any unpleasant incident.
