Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Parks & Horticulture Authority (PHA) to enhance cooperation between both the departments.
Managing Director LWMC, Khalid Majeed and Director General PHA, Mian Shakeel signed the draft during a ceremony, in which it is declared that both companies will launch a campaign titled “Clean & Green Streets Campaign” in the city to improve environment. Under this campaign, LWMC & PHA will establish 27 Model Streets, three each in the nine towns of the city.
Both departments will take steps together to improve aesthetics and environment of the selected streets and make sure rehabilitation of selected streets, cleanliness of these streets and greening through plantation. Community sitting corners will also be established in the most suitable sections of street so that community can have get together.
