City District Government Rawalpindi (CDGR) officials and contractors seem not to be interested in completing the Metro Bus Service (MBS) project in time.
The construction work on different phases of MBS from Saddar to Faizabad is being continued at a slow pace. No progress in construction work has been seen even after the city administrator and officials gave deadline of March 31 for the inauguration of project.
The delay is causing immense troubles for commuters, public and students of different educational institutions located along Benazir Bhutto Road. Moreover, the traders, shopkeepers and residents, who are either running businesses or living in streets and towns along Benazir Bhutto Road are also facing issues due to rainwater-filled ditches on the road, mud and traffic influx.
Several people including residents, shopkeepers, traders, students, transporters and passengers lashed out at the concerned officials for showing negligence towards the contractors for making such blunders.
