ISLAMABAD: National Vocational and Technical Education Commission (NAVTEC) Chairman, Adnan A Khwaja has said that all possible efforts will be made to export skilled workforce to the Middle East and Gulf regions for maximising foreign remittances.

He was talking to the fourth batch of NAVTEC trainees at POF Institute of Technology (POFIT) at Wah Cantt on Monday. Three batches of 120 trainees have already completed short courses of three-month in 30 different trades. Major areas of training were turning, milling, fitting, grinding, and shaping of tools. The fourth batch of NAVTEC trainees has joined the POFIT yesterday and today was their inaugural day of training.

Adnan Khwaja said that remittances from overseas Pakistanis were already playing a vital role in the economic growth of their country and expressed confidence that the export of skilled workforce would greatly help in reducing dependence on foreign assistance. Khwaja advised the trainees to learn with dedication and prove themselves the best at the international level in technical trade.
