Islamabad - The Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) reiterated his resolve that CDA will ensure timely completion of the ongoing development projects being executed by the authority on self-finance basis.
The allocated funds would be utilised during the current fiscal year to meet the development target so that the current year could be remembered as “year of the development.” Chairman CDA Maroof Afzal said this while chairing a meeting here at CDA Headquarters on Tuesday. The meeting reviewed the progress about the various ongoing development projects, carried out through self-financing and strategy for their completion within stipulated time.
The chairman CDA was apprised that work on development of Park Enclave is in progress at fast pace and construction work on 35 out of 44 roads and culverts is in progress. Earth work on 25 roads has been completed while two underground water tanks have been constructed. Construction work on overhead water tanks is in final stages, he was informed.
The chairman CDA was further apprised that work on construction of two tube wells is about to be completed in Park Enclave. While work on construction of security check posts is in full swing, which would be completed very soon. He was informed that CDA’s unique housing project of Park Enclave would be developed expectedly within stipulated time.
Maroof Afzal was also informed that the development activities have been started in Sector I-12 and contract for construction of seven major roads has been awarded, adding that with the award of this contract, the contractor concerned has mobilised the heavy machinery for construction purpose in Sector I-12. These seven major roads would be constructed at a cost of Rs 240 million.
Similarly, pre-qualification process for development of Sector I-15 is in progress and after completion of pre-qualification process, the development activities would be commenced in this sector. Sector I-15 was opened for the low-income people.
The chairman CDA was further informed that CDA is taking over the possession of land in Sector E-12 and Kuri Model Village in a peaceful manner after successful dialogues with the locals of these areas, adding that heavy machinery of machinery pool organization directorate has been mobilised for earth work in the area.
It was also told that the concerned formations of the authority are installing signboards at streets and other small and major roads after the carpeting process of the approach road in Sector D-12. While the remaining development work would also be completed very soon in Sector D-12, the chairman CDA was informed.
To protect the CDA land from encroachment, the chairman CDA was informed that the concerned formation of the authority is fencing the land.
The meeting also reviewed the progress about the under-construction parking plazas in Islamabad. The chairman CDA was apprised that construction work on one parking plaza is in final stages while construction work on the other parking plaza has been expedited. The meeting further reviewed progress on construction of citizens centres.
Due to the considerable increase in number of patients in Capital Hospital of CDA, the meeting also reviewed the up-gradation plan and construction of new block in the Capital Hospital. Similarly, construction of proposed flyover on 7th Avenue and underpasses on Faisal Avenue were discussed during the meeting.
The chairman CDA directed the concerned formations of the authority to ensure effective monitoring and supervision of the ongoing development projects in the federal capital. He further directed for completion of these development projects within stipulated time while ensuring quality and standard.
The chairman CDA directed all the members of CDA Board to ensure strict supervision of development projects of their respective wings. He asked the members concerned to ensure timely completion of the development projects on regular basis. He also directed for submission of progress reports about the ongoing development projects.
The chairman CDA directed the concerned formations of the authority to ensure utilisation of funds allocated for different development activities in the city and remove the hassle in professional manners to ensure their timely completion.
