Parliament free to impeach me: Musharraf

ISLAMABAD: President Pervez Musharraf said on Friday that parliament was free to debate an impeachment motion against him.
Talking to PML-Q President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and opposition leader Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, he said he would continue supporting the democratic process and accept the supremacy of parliament.
“The president said parliament was an independent institution, he was part of it and he will accept parliament’s decisions,” sources said. The sources said the president praised the opposition’s role during the budget session in the National Assembly, saying the country needed political reconciliation instead of confrontation. The Chaudhrys assured the president of their full support.
