Rawalpindi - Capt (Retd) Zahid Saeed, commissioner Rawalpindi and director general Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA), has directed relevant officials to immediately remove extra material from the construction site of Rawalpindi-Islamabad Metro Bus Project (MBP) to avoid dust and public inconvenience.
These directions were given in a meeting which was held here on Friday to review the progress of Package-II Rawalpindi and Package-II Islamabad of the metro bus project. The package-II Rawalpindi and package-II Islamabad were discussed in detail.
The NLC representative gave a detailed presentation on the progress of abovementioned two packages.
Zahid directed the contractors to work day and night to complete it within stipulated time.
Emphasising upon removing extra material from the site of the metro bus project, he directed the contractors for clearing the project site in order to provide relief to the general public. He inquired contractors about the procurement of different items including glass, marble and other material. The contractors clarified that the procurement of these items is under process. The DG RDA also urged contractors to speed up work on girder launching.
