The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has acquired 6,000 kanals for its residential society “LDA City” located on Ferozepur Road.
Land for 60,000 kanals project is being acquired in Kahna, Sidhar, Rakh Jhedu, Halloki, Toor Warraich, Kacha and Thay Panju. Though the recent protests slowed down the land acquisition process but the process would be accelerated with a soft launch of the scheme.
“Besides this, officials, including the land acquisition collector, have been asked to force development partners to speed up land purchase and its transfer to the LDA,” an official said. The civic authority is accelerating the acquisition work and has plans to complete it within two months.
The LDA will launch a regular balloting of its plots after the completion of the land acquisition process. People can buy such plots in the scheme after checking record from the LDA officials. Due to current acquisition, 2000 additional plots are created in the scheme. A transparent computerised balloting will be held by December end.
