ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) will start dualisation work at the Islamabad dry port road as soon as the court disposes of a litigation of the contract.
CDA Member Engineering Shahid Sohail on Wednesday visited the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) where he said the authority would resolve issues of the industrial area and markets on priority to facilitate the business activities.
He said reflectors would be arranged at road crossings in industrial areas and added that market unions should cooperate with CDA for removing encroachments from commercial areas and assured the rehabilitation of roads and footpaths in I-9 and I-10 industrial areas.
He said the civic agency would soon undertake the installation of streetlights in industrial, commercial and residential areas.
The authority would consider building bridges to connect sector I-8 and I-9 at the 9th Avenue.
“Due to broken roads and footpaths and non-availability of streetlights in industrial areas, industrialists were facing difficulties in moving goods to/from industries,” he said, urging CDA to pay immediate attention to address these issues by ensuring proper carpeting, patchwork and repair of roads & footpaths.
Businessmen asked Sohail to ensure their solutions on priority to facilitate the business community. Both sides reiterated to develop close cooperation for better development of the city and improving infrastructure for trade and industry.
