SHAHBAZ APPROVES ASHIYANA HOUSING SCHEME
Saturday, November 15, 2014 - Lahore—Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has given approval to the project of Ashiyana Housing Scheme, comprising thousands of houses for low-income shelter-less people of the province. He was presiding over a high level meeting, here Friday.
The Chief Minister said that houses will be given to low-income families on soft terms and lakhs of people will have a safe shelter under this project.
He said that school, college, hospital and other necessary facilities will also be provided under Ashiyana housing project. He said that Ashiyana housing scheme is the most important welfare project in the history of the country.
He said that best locations have been selected for Ashiyana housing scheme so that its residents could live in a peaceful and respectable manner. Shahbaz Sharif said that Punjab government is starting the new project for realizing the dream of thousands of low income persons to have their own houses.
He said that houses will be provided in Ashiyana housing scheme on soft terms. Provincial Minister for Housing Tanvir Aslam Malik, Special Assistant Azm ul Haq, Senior Member Board of Revenue, Chairman Planning & Development, President Bank of Punjab, Secretaries Housing and Information departments, Commissioner Lahore Division, Director General LDA and other concerned officers were present in the meeting. DG LDA Ahad Cheema while giving a briefing regarding construction of houses for low-income families informed that the project will soon be started.
