Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pervez Khattak has formally approved the master plans of two mega residential projects and directed the authorities to complete the PC-1 of both schemes.

Both housing schemes including Nowshera Motorway (Mega Education) City and Peshawar Model Town (Mega Sports City) would cost Rs80 billion and Rs60 billion respectively. Both housing projects are being launched under public-private partnership. In a couple of months, the projects will be advertised for local and foreign investment soon after finalization of their PC-1.

In this regard, a meeting was held with CM Khattak in the chair to review the master plans of the projects. Both the projects were approved after being revised for certain changes. At the end of meeting, the CM said that though both the schemes would be big cities with all facilities and amenities yet these projects were launched solely to emphasize importance on education and sports as envisaged by the government.

He further said that unlike past, every project should be initiated following a formal master plan and civic planning to benefit the future generations. He directed the concerned officials to make efforts for broad roads and footpaths to facilitate motorists and pedestrians and affect minimum agricultural land.
