Sunday, November 02, 2014 - Rawalpindi—Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) held a meeting here on Saturday to review the progress of Package-II Rawalpindi and Package-II Islamabad Metro Bus Project.

The meeting was jointly chaired by former MNA Muhammad Hanif Abbasi and Commissioner Rawalpindi Division/Director General (DG), RDA Capt. ® Zahid Saeed. Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Rawalpindi Shoaib Khurram, Chief Engineer RDA Muhammad Saeed Akhtar, Project Manager NESPAK, Brig ® Shahid from NLC and other relevant officers and contractors of the project attended the meeting. During the meeting Package-II Rawalpindi and Package-II Islamabad were discussed in detail. DG RDA Capt ® Zahid Saeed stressed upon the importance of speedy work and urged the contractor to work day and night.

He said when there is no physical impediment in the way of work, it should not be delayed. “We must increase work time substantially in order to reduce the difficulties of traders and general public”, he added. Ex-MNA Hanif Abbasi also insisted to execute ongoing work on fast track basis. He said that contractor is very slow in girder launching. In consultation with Chief Traffic Office, it was decided that girder launching will be done between 8:00 pm to 7:00 am.

In addition it will also be done partly during day time on Fridays and Sundays.
