The Lahore High Court seeks a reply from the District Coordination Officer (DCO), Lahore Development Authority (LDA) and the Director General (DG) of Lahore Walled City Authority (LCWA) on a petition seeking proceedings against the authorities for not taking serious action against the illegal construction of multi-storey buildings inside the walled city.

A resident of Kashmiri Gate has submitted a petition that the construction of multi-storey buildings was rampant inside the walled city and also against the set rules and regulations. The illegal construction and commercial activities within the walled city of Lahore are illegal and unconstitutional. He requested the court to initiate contempt proceedings against the authorities for not stopping commercial activities and construction of multi-storey buildings inside the walled city.
