Punjab approves seven uplift schemes

The Punjab government on Tuesday approved seven development schemes at an estimated cost of Rs 4196.966 million. The schemes were approved in the 44th meeting of Provincial Development Working Party of current fiscal year 2013-14 presided over by Punjab Planning and Development Board Chairman Muhammad Irfan Elahi.

The approved development schemes included Rawalpindi-Islamabad Metro Bus Project, Supply, Installation, Testing, Commissioning, Operation and Maintenance of Escalator and Elevator, Platform Screen Door (PSD) and Ventilation Works (Rawalpindi Part) at a cost of Rs 1316.298 million, Construction of Government Girls Degree College, Manghot Tehsil Gujar Khan District Rawalpindi at a cost of Rs 233.844 million.

Lahore Ring Road (Package-12) Construction of Road Portion from Lakhu Dair to GT Road Intersection at a cost of Rs 896.728 million, Installation of Weigh Bridge at Lahore Ring Road at a cost of Rs 205.209 million, Lahore Ring Road (Package-12A) Construction of Underpass at Bhaini Road on Ring Road Lahore at a cost of Rs 516.953 million, Lahore Ring Road (Package-3C) Construction of Underpass at Karol Ghatti on Ring Road Lahore at a cost of Rs 611.102 million and Construction of Kasur Sports Complex, Khem Karan Road, Kasur (Amended) at a cost of Rs 416.832 million.
