THE Anti-Corruption Establishment has arrested PML-Q leader ex-MNA Mian Muhammad Asif on the allegation of defrauding around Rs 1 billion through illegally disposing of 110 Kanal land in connivance with LDA officials.

The ACE officials informed The News that PML-Q leader Mian Muhammad Asif, who was a ticket holder of the party during the February-18 general election for MNA seat from Lahore, had four Kanal land in Mustafa Town Lahore but he had fraudulently disposed 110 kanal land of others in the shape of plots in connivance with the LDA officials.

The LDA authorities conducted initial inquiry against the accused and afterwards the probe was transferred to the Anti-Corruption Establishment.

The ACE officials finalised their enquiry and found the accused guilty. Following directions by ACE DG, the ACE authorities h registered a case against the accused under sections 420, 468, 471 and 547 and arrested the accused.

Two co-accused who are LDA officials, Shaffi Muhammad and Abdur Rasheed, are yet to be arrested.
