Sunday, May 11, 2014 - Lahore—Senior Member Board of Revenue Punjab Nadeem Ashraf presided over a meeting regarding land computerized system throughout the province. Members Revenue Board and senior officials were present in the meeting. Addressing the meeting, Senior Member Board of Revenue said that in the light of instructions of Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, Land Record Computerization Project is in the final stages of completion for ensuring correct record and information to the people of their property and assets, issuance of property deeds and land record, verification of mutation and services relating to other affairs through computer and will be launched throughout the province next month.

Nadeem Ashraf told that after success of this pilot project launched from district Kasur in 2010, best services are being provided to the people through land record centres in more than 100 tehsils of Punjab while land record centres will formally be launched in other tehsils of the province by June this year. He said that after linking land record computerization system through NADRA record, not only the flaws in land record are being rectified but transparency of the record, protection of landowners against fraud and their rights have also become possible. He said that the staff of Revenue Department provided full cooperation in this pilot project at every level whereas World Bank has also provided financial assistance to the project.
