Bahria Town decides to cancel Clifton project: spokesperson

KARACHI: Bahria Town has decided to cancel the project of two underpasses and flyover in Clifton in the best interest of the masses, its spokesperson announced.

The project was to cost Rs1.8 billion. The Bahria Town spokesperson added that the project was a victim to opposition by the negative forces who set aside interest of the people of Karachi.

According to the spokesperson, after the court-verdict on the petition filed by DHA for halting work on the project, they have come to the conclusion that it is a difficult task to work sincerely for welfare of the masses.

“Since start of the project, we’ve been dragged into courts and stay orders have been obtained for stopping the project more than once,” the spokesperson noted. The Bahria Town representative apologised to the people of Karachi for stopping this project, and remarked that if someone from the area faced any issues, he should consult the government, DHA or the judiciary
