Minister for accelerating work on Kurri Road project

Islamabad: Minister of State for Housing and Works Barrister Usman Ibrahim directed the Pakistan Housing Authority Foundation (PHAF) to accelerate work on the Kurri Road project on priority basis.

While chairing a meeting regarding appointment of supervisory consultant for the project, the minister directed the PHAF to initiate the process of calling the financial bids. The minister has given approval in principle for the 7 short listed consultant firms out of 41 contesting firms.

The criterion for the suitable consultant firm was also discussed in detail. The minister expressed his deep concern over delay in the project and directed the concerned officers to complete the bids procedure immediately.

He was perturbed over the inefficiency and carelessness of the previous government and stated that the incumbent government is committed to address public’s grievances and provide them relief as much as possible.

It may also be mentioned that after the finalisation of supervisory consultant infrastructure work would also be expedited.

The project was started back in 2011, consists of 588 housing units of A, B and C category for BPS-21, 21 and 20 grade federal employees. The meeting was attended by Joint Secretary Housing & Work and PHA directors.
