ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Development Working Party (IDWP) in its meeting on Wednesday considered at length the PC-1 of 42 development schemes and approved, in principle, 41 development schemes.The approval was subject to the rationalisation of cost and verification by the Planning and Development Division, along with other conditions to be fulfilled in certain schemes.The meeting was chaired by Islamabad Chief Commissioner and IDWP Chairman Jawad Paul and attended by chiefs of the Planning and Development Division, Islamabad police, Ministry of Interior’s deputy financial adviser, and officials of the ICT Administration.As many as 38 development schemes, relating to the Local Government and Rural Development Department, which include 14 rural roads schemes, 18 streets pavements schemes, four water supply schemes and two schemes for the residences of officers of the ICTA at the Rural Development Markaz, Tarlai, were approved. Moreover, two development schemes relating to the Islamabad police and one relating to the development of Civil Defence Department were also approved, in principle, subject to rationalisation of cost and verification by the Planning and Development Division.The participants of the meeting also decided that the Local Government and Rural Development Department should also submit comprehensive data of development schemes, launched during the last five years in the rural areas, relating to roads, street pavements and water supply so that there was no duplication of schemes in the rural area. The participants also decided that the approval to two residential schemes for the officers of the ICTA was subject to no-objection certificates (NOCs) regarding exemption from ban from the competent authority. Details of five revised schemes approved – subject to rationalisation of estimated cost – include improvement of Civil Defence Department (Rs 58.954 million); street pavement in villages Shamas Colony, Dherkh Mohri, Sara-i-Kharbooza, Bokra and Jhangi Sayedan (Rs 59.95 million); construction of 6km road, streets in rural area of NA-48 (Rs 59.965 million); street pavement at Dhoke Abbasi, Pind Parrian, Dhoke Paracha (Rs 59.9 million) and construction/improvement of internal roads in village Koral (Rs 57.709 million). Two development schemes for Islamabad police were approved subject to rationalisation of cost, which included establishment of police barracks in Sector G11 Markaz (Rs 49.131 million) and establishment of a police station in Sector G9 Markaz (Rs 27.813 million). It was decided to revisit the third scheme relating to establishment of a police station in Sector G8 Markaz and seek guidance of the Planning and Development Division.Details of the Local Government and Rural Development Department’s 38 uplift schemes for the rural areas include, development works at Jhangi Sayedan, adjoining areas (Rs 59.100 million); street pavement at Gulshan Colony, Moh, Mehar Ali, Nai Abadi, Moh Purana Thana, Moh Sadddiq-e-Akbar, Tarnol (Rs 49.687 million); street pavement at Sadaat Colony, Shaheenabad, Awanabad, Shamas Town, Malikabad, Jhangi Sayedan, Dhoke Sultan Akbar (Rs 57.751 million); street pavement at Dhoke Malyar, adjoining areas and Jhangi Sayedan (Rs 52.123 million); street pavement at Gulshan Khudadad, Moh Ali Buksh, Dhoke Suleman, Bokra, Pind Dorian, Dhoke Potoharian, Pindi Hoon (Rs 58.102 million); street pavement at Dhoke Goura, Dhoke Raja Mehboob, Sangjani, Jori Rajgan (Rs 55.322 million); street pavement at Golra Sharif, Bhalkar Fateh Buksh, Dhoke Lubana (Rs 53.850 million); street pavement at Mohala Farooq-e-Azam, Ratti Kassi, Paracha Town, Sundaymar (Rs 56.091 million); street pavement at Shah Allah Ditta (Rs 48.750 million) and rehabilitation of Shah Allah Ditta Road from D12 to Hotel Green Valley (Rs 47.100 million). The members also gave a nod to other development schemes in the capital.
