CDA retrieves 1,200 kanals of land from illegal occupants
Islamabad : Following the directions of Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA), Maroof Afzal, Directorate of Enforcement launched an operation and retrieved more than 1,200 kanals of CDA land from illegal occupants from the greenbelt between Sectors I-10 and H-10.
The operation started on Monday at 9:30 a.m. and continued till evening. CDA Directorate of Enforcement team was assisted by District Administration and heavy contingent of Islamabad Police.
Around 2,000 illegal constructions including houses, sheds and huts were demolished during the operation. Heavy machinery of CDA was also used during the operation.
CDA Chairman Maroof Afzal has directed the Directorate of Enforcement to ensure elimination of all encroachments to maintain natural beauty of Islamabad.
Indiscriminate legal action in this regard should continue to retrieve CDA land from illegal occupants.
He further directed to get assistance of Islamabad Police and ICT administration wherever required to ensure elimination of encroachments from the city.
