Rawalpindi : Decision has been taken to construct a new overhead bridge over nullah Leh near Rialto chowk ahead of advent of rainy season. This bridge will be completed with the accomplishment of Metro Bus Project at the cost of Rs 250 millions.
Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has said that this bridge will have more width and length than the previous bridge. NESPAK is reviewing how much higher the bridge should be constructed that the water flow in nullah Leh could not touch this bridge during rainy season.
As per RDA, the width of new bridge will be kept 72 feet and 4 lights each on both sides of bridge will be installed. The bridge will be 191 feet long. The existing bridge near Rialto chowk is 100 years old and it has outlived its age.
