Karachi – The anti-encroachment squad of KMC (Karachi Metropolitan Corporation) recovered 14 acres of Karachi University’s land from the land mafia during an anti-encroachment drive in Chakra Goth, Korangi No.1.
Anti-encroachment force demolished various concrete structures and houses constructed on an amenity area allocated to Karachi University. The operation was carried out by using heavy machinery. Mazhar Khan, Director Anti-encroachment Task Force, Muhammad Shakir, Additional Director Anti-encroachment Task Force and other personnel were present on the site.
The squad also faced resistance from the land mafia during the operation. However, Police took immediate actions to control the situation. Speaking on this operation, Mazhar Khan said that notices were served to the occupiers a week ago and this action has been taken after considering all legal aspects. He said that the Police also arrested an estate agent who sold plots to the people through fake documents.
