Slum Dwellers Informed Of Katchi Abadis Eviction Drive
Islamabad – The inhabitants of 12 katchi Abadis have been informed about Interior Ministry’s plan regarding the eviction of slums in the Federal Capital.
As a result, the slum dwellers have said that they would protest against the demolition of Katchi Abadis. A delegation, comprising representatives of All Pakistan Alliance for Katchi Abadis and dwellers of slums held a meeting with Amer Ali Ahmed, CDA Member Administration. The meeting was led by Alia Amir of the AWP (Awami Workers Party).
However, Amir Ali Ahmed refused to discuss options regarding the resettlement of slum dwellers. He made it clear that the authority has no plan of calling off slum eviction drive.
