Extension work moves at snail’s pace

ISLAMABAD: Although Capital Development Authority (CDA) has started the extension work at slip road of Seventh Avenue in front of sector F-6 but the work was moving at snail’s pace.

An official of the CDA requesting not to be identified said as the road was close to schools it observed huge traffic in the morning and noon.

“Almost everyday traffic jam was seen at the service road so we decided to widen the road. The road also needs a traffic police official to manage the traffic there,” he said.

“It was proposed that slip road of the Seventh Avenue should be widened to ensure that traffic pass through it speedily. Work has started but unfortunately it could not be completed even after almost a month,” he said.

At Nazim ud Din Road, just near the overhead bridge of Seventh Avenue, (Sector F-6) a ditch has become a problem for the commuters.

An officer of CDA who is not authorized to speak on record said that extension work was started but because of the rain it was stopped.

“We had unexpected rain at the end of the winter season but now it seems the spell is over and the road will be widened soon,” he said.
