CDA to launch operation against slums today
ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) will launch an operation against the slums today (Monday) which are being occupied by the families belonging from different parts of the country. Talking to the media personnel, CDA spokesperson said that the authority has prepared a comprehensive plan to remove the 13 illegal slums from the different sectors of the capital. He said that CDA is coordinating with the Ministry of Interior and the Islamabad Capital Territory Police (ICT) to conduct an operation against the slum areas, and the operation would continue till May. He added that the first phase of the operation would start from the Afghan Basti in sector I11. He noted that the standing committees of Senate and the National Assembly were pushing hard to clear the area and the majority of the land grabbers in the sectors are Afghans.
