Lahore – LHC (Lahore High Court) has issued a temporary stay against the acquisition of land for developing Garment City in Sheikhupura.
On a plea against land acquisition, LHC has also sought replies from the Punjab Government by 3rd February, 2014. Petitioner’s counsel submitted that the Punjab Government was trying to acquire an agricultural land for the development of Garment City.
He also mentioned that due to the neglect of agricultural acreage, fruits and vegetables are getting expensive for the poor.
