Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has directed the new Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Tariq Mehmood Khan to complete ongoing development projects within the stipulated time frame.

The prime minister stated this while talking to the newly appointed CDA chairman who called on him here at the Prime Minister’s House on Saturday.

The prime minister expressed his confidence that the new chairman would work with zeal and to the best of his abilities to make Islamabad greener and more beautiful. He said not only the government, but the people of Islamabad have high expectations from him to ensure transparency, maintain the pace of development work in addition to make one-window operation more efficient for speedily redressing people’s problems.

The prime minister also asked the new CDA chief to undertake more public welfare projects particularly those related to the provision of clean drinking water, improvement in sanitation system, plantation of trees, installation of street lights, making new parks and improving facilities at the existing ones and creation of more recreational activities in the city.

The CDA chairman thanked the government for reposing confidence on him. He said that he takes the new assignment, as a challenge and would put his best efforts to give a new look to Islamabad and make it more beautiful and clean. He also assured that one-window operation would be further improved to address the grievances of the people. The CDA chairman also apprised the prime minister about CDA’s programme of laying a water pipeline from Ghazi Barotha hydle power project to meet water shortage of the city.
