Lahore – Railways Authorities plan to develop nurseries at Railways land, which is dumped in garbage.
The land department of Railways has gathered information about 300 sites and garbage is being removed from such sites. After the removal of garbage, nurseries will be developed under the name of Green Railways.
Recently, nurseries were developed on the leased-land of Railways in different divisions, through which Railways is earning reasonably in the form of rentals. The land department has earned Rs. 452 in the first four months of 2013 and budgeted rental for this year is set to be Rs. 1500 million.
