Punjab government approves over Rs 29,753 million uplift schemes

The Punjab Government on Tuesday approved five development schemes of road sector, irrigation and infrastructure sectors with an estimated cost of Rs 29,753.904 million. These schemes are approved in the 14th meeting of Provincial Development working party of current fiscal year 2013-14 presided over by the Punjab Planning and Development Board Chairman, Muhammad Irfan Elahi.

Provincial Secretary P&D Arif Anwar Baloch, all members of the Planning & Development Board, Provincial Secretaries concerned and other senior representatives of the relevant Provincial Departments also attended the meeting. P&D Department spokesman said the approved development schemes included:

1. Sustainable Land Management Programme to Combat Desertification in Pakistan (Punjab) at tthe cost of Rs 342.680 million

2. Construction of Additional Bridge over River Ravi at the cost of Rs 798.340 million,

3. Lahore Ring Road Project-Southern Loop (Package-1) (Land Acquisition and Relocation of Utilities) (Revised) at the cost of Rs 9958.896 million,

4. Lahore Ring Road Project-Southern Loop (Package-2) (Land Acquisition and Relocation of Utilities) (Revised) at the cost of Rs 9983.460 million and

5. Lahore Ring Road Project-Southern Loop (Package-3) (Land Acquisition and Relocation of Utilities) at the cost of Rs 8670.528 million.
