Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Director General Ahad Khan Cheema has established Directorate of Land Acquisition in LDA, for efficiently handling matters of land for various development projects in the city. The directorate will function under the administrative control of Additional Director General (Housing), LDA, and will have two wings namely the award/ownership wing as well as the land acquisition wing, spokesperson said on Saturday.

The award/ownership wing will address the public complaints and will be responsible for timely submission of transparent reports regarding ownership/award status. The land acquisition wing will handle the land acquisition proceedings and issue necessary notification under the Punjab Land Acquisition Act, etc. The wing will also be responsible for completing the proceedings where it has not already been completed.

Headed by a Director Land Acquisition (BS-19), the directorate will also be manned by a Deputy Director (BS-18). Three existing posts of LACs have been abolished for creating these two posts. Thus the establishment of new directorate will have no financial impact on LDA.

Meanwhile, the LDA Director General has ordered transfers, postings of Land Acquisition Collectors (LACs) in LDA. Upon joining LDA, Sajjad Ahmad Qureshi has been posted as LAC-I. He will also work as LAC for River Ravi Development Zone Project, Metro Bus Project and Dualization of Road from LOS Ferozepur Road to Multan Road along Cantt Drain. Mian Hamid Raheed has been posted as LAC-II. He will also work as LAC for LDA City Housing Scheme. Ahmad Alam Waseem has been posted as LAC-III, LDA
