ISLAMABAD, Sep 24 (APP): The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has announced 50 percent rebate on payment of property tax to the self-occupied owners for their houses built on upto 250 sq yards plots.
According to the rules and regulations, the revenue directorate of the civic authority would gives 50 percent relief to the self occupied owners.
However, if the owners have rented out their homes, they would have to pay 100 percent property tax bill.
One residential House, Flat or apartment owned and self- occupied by the owner/allottee or his family including his parents would pay 50 percent bill.
If an apartment or residential house belonging to a widow and she owns no other built up property anywhere in Pakistan. 100 percent exemption shall also be available to widow minor sons and un-married daughter of a Widow after her death.
The CDA has requested the taxpayers for timely payment of property tax and other arrears to avoid the monthly surcharge at the rate of 1.5 percent.
It may be mentioned here that the property tax bills are issued before 15th August every year.
Owner may contact the Directorate of Revenue for Duplicate bill in case of non-receipt or via http://www.cda.gov.pk. Multi unit buildings are billed on pro-rate basis. Five percent rebate allowed on payment of current tax upto September 30.
