LAHORE Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that nothing can be more important than solution to the energy crisis and the nation will be rid of loadshedding through speedy completion of power generation projects.
He was speaking on the occasion of signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Punjab government and a Chinese company, Norinco International Corporation Limited, for setting up a solar power project.
Secretary Energy Usman Bajwa and Vice-President Norinco International Zhang Shiping signed the document. Under the agreement, the Norinco International will set up a 300 megawatt solar power project in Cholistan to be completed within 12 months. The Punjab government will assist Norinco International in identifying the site for the solar power plant in Cholistan.
