CDA declares Al-Mustafa Tower faulty

ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has declared the contraction of the Al-Mustafa Tower faulty in its report.

According to details, CDA engineers had inspected the tower on July 8 and declared the basement faulty in its detailed report.

They said that water had defected the foundations of the tower and if it is not repaired on emergency basis, the building could collapse in 6 months.

A source said, “This tower was built by the Madina Wala Construction Company who charged millions of rupees from allotted persons for repairing but failed to do this.

Representatives of the Al-Mustafa Tower Welfare Association have demanded of authorities concerned to take notice against the construction company.

Tarbela to supply water: CDA Chairman Nadeem Ahsan Asif said that a project to supply water to the federal capital through Tarbela had been evolved.

Speaking to residents of sector I10, he urged local residents to cooperate with the authority to beautify the city.

The CDA chairman said that encroachments in the federal capital had created problems for commuters. He urged that traders would cooperate in any future operation encroachment. He gave directives to his staff to rectify sewerage problems of the area urgently.

The chairman also expressed his dissatisfaction over hygiene, security and sanitation condition of the fruits and vegetables market. He gave stringent directives to evolve a comprehensive plan to deal with such problems.

Encroachments in front of hospital: Encroachments and illegal taxi stands in front of the Polyclinic Hospital have multiplied miseries of patients.

As per details, fruit sellers have established their stalls in front of the hospital and taxi drivers also parked their vehicles there, due to which ambulances face difficulties in reaching to the hospital.

The hospital administration has failed to eliminate these encroachments. Patients took plenty of time in reaching to the ward, which puts the life of patients in danger.

Patients and their attendants have demanded of higher authorities to eliminate these encroachments and taxi stands as soon as possible.

Fruits market turns into heap of garbage: The fruits market of the federal capital has turned into heap of garbage due to non-availability of a sewerage system and a filtration plant.

As per details, wasted fruits and vegetables have raised the threat of epidemic ailment in the area. Problems of the trader’s community have also been multiplied due to encroachments.

Citizens said that the recent rainy season had increased the mud in the market, due to which it became difficult to walk through the area.

Traders and citizens have protested against negligence of the CDA and demanded to solve their problems urgently.
