ISLAMABAD: Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Nadeem Ahsan Asif on Wednesday said that the authority would start a mega water project to overcome the shortage of water in the capital.

Speaking on the second day of the ten-day Ramazan family festival at the National Press Club, he said the CDA was working on an emergency basis to provide drinking water to the citizens, and a project was afoot to provide water to the city from Tarbela Dam.

He said the twin cities would be provided a comprehensive quality transport system on the model of Lahore’s Metro Bus Service, new playgrounds would be developed and facilities be provided for coaching children.

The chairman said the new coaching facilities for children would groom them for participation in national and international competitions
