The Capital Development Authority (CDA) finalised arrangements for auction of 52 commercial plots situated in I-12 Markaz and many other plots in developed sectors of Islamabad. A meeting to review the arrangements was held here at CDA Headquarters, which was presided over by Chairman CDA, Syed Tahir Shahbaz.

On this occasion Syed Mustafain Kazmi, Member Planning and Design, Shaista Sohail, Member Estate, Azhar Ali Chaudhry, Member Finance, Member Engineering, Sanaullah Aman, Member Environment, Ahsan Ali Mangi and other officers of the authority were also present. Chairman CDA said the authority is taking effective measures for promotion of trade and economic activities in the federal capital. He said that due to increase in population, the authority is paying heed to enhance the business activities, adding that CDA has extended the Blue Area to offer commercial plots through open bidding as well as in the developed sectors of the city.

The Chairman CDA said strategic location of Sector I-12 has its great significance as this sector is a gateway between the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi. He said that CDA is striving hard to promote business and economic activities in the capital city, adding that all out efforts would be made to establish Sector I-12 as economic hub for commercial activities. The I-12 Markaz has great importance for the people from Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab and Kashmir from business point of view.

He said that the purpose of auction of commercial plots is to meet the future requirements of the city as it is expanding with the passage of time and new projects would be launched. He said that the construction of business centres would not only boost business activities but also promote economy and employment opportunities.

The Chairman CDA said the authority for the first time focused on the development of Sector I-12 to start business activities after provision of residential facilities in the sector. He said that 52 commercial plots have been planned in Markaz I-12. Size of each commercial plot is 1,096 square yards. He said that the design theme of Markaz I-12 would be Twin-City Saddar Market, while all four provinces of Pakistan have been represented in the design theme with 5th block of Gilgit-Baltistan having Kashmir Mall. He said that all the blocks have been interconnected in a way to facilitate the pedestrians without any hassle.
