LAHORE: The Punjab government on Wednesday approved eleven development schemes of various sectors of the economy with an estimated cost of Rs 6036.381 million.

The schemes were approved in the 34th meeting of Provincial Development Working Party of current fiscal year 2012-13 presided over by the Punjab Planning and Development Board Chairman Sohail Ahmad.

The approved development schemes includes urban sewerage/drainage scheme Kamoke district Gujranwala (revised) at the cost of Rs 317.524 million, Punjab Youth Internship Programme (revised) at the cost of Rs 861.001 million, development and upgradation of Lahore Museum building and conservation facilities Lahore at the cost of Rs 408.207 million. Construction of 60 bedded THQ Hospital Sarai Alamgir, district Gujrat (revised) at the cost of Rs 220.324 million, widening/improvement of Nowshera Virkan to Hafizabad Road km number 0.00 to 30.90 L=30.90 km in district Gujranwala and Hafizabad at the cost of Rs 444.497 million, widening/improvement of Gujranwala Alipur Qadirabad Chak Mano Mandi Bahauddin Road (Section from Gujranwala to Mano Chak L=67.50) in district Gujranwala and Mandi Bahauddin at the cost of Rs 459.196 million, widening/improvement of Katha Sagral Lilla Road length=42-km district Khushab/Jhelum at the cost of Rs 611.743 million, widening/improvement of road from Harnoli to Wan Bhachran to Musa Khe l0.00 km to 49.13 km length 49.13 km in district Mianwali at the cost of Rs 539.418 million, widening/improvement of road from Rang Pur Chowk Munda Daira Din Pannah to Taunsa More up to Pull Qamber, length 72.50 kms in district Muzaffargarh (revised) at the cost of Rs 581.837 million, dualisation of Sahiwal-Arifwala Road from km 2.54 to 44.66 42.12 km in district Sahiwal/Pakpattan at the cost of Rs 1346.275 million and hiring of consultancy services for feasibilities studies, tender design, procurement documents and supervision of 50 megawatts coal thermal power projects on EPC at Industrial Estates Sunder Lahore and M-3 Industrial City Faisalabad (revised) at the cost of Rs 246.359 million.

Punjab Secretary P&D Arif Anwar Baloch, all members of the Planning and Development Board, provincial secretaries concerned and other senior representatives of the relevant provincial departments also attended the meeting
