CDA to uplift sector G-9

ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) will take extraordinary measures for renovation, up-gradation and beautification of Sector G-9 as this sector is the most populated sector and Markaz G-9 is the busiest trade centre of Islamabad. CDA chairman, Syed Tahir Shahbaz said this on the occasion of launching ceremony of the sector-wise “Clean and Green Islamabad” campaign in Sector G-9 here on Thursday. On this occasion Chief Coordinator of “Clean and Green Islamabad” campaign and Member Planning and Design, Syed Mustafain Kazmi, Member Engineering, Sanaullah Aman, officers and officials of CDA, school children, members of civil society, traders and a large number of citizens were also present. The participants of the campaign also joined an awareness walk on “Clean and Green Islamabad” campaign. School children displayed placards inscribed with awareness messages. Addressing the participants of awareness walk, Syed Tahir Shahbaz said a large number of low paid employees of the government are residing in Sector G-9, while Markaz G-9 is the busiest trade centre of the capital due to which the number of issues faced by the public here are more than any other sector of the city. He directed the officers and officials of environment, sanitation, municipal administration and engineering wings of the authority to pay special heed and resolve these grievances of residents and traders of Sector G-9 in available resources on priority. He assured the residents and traders of Sector G-9 that the authority would utilise its manpower and machinery to resolve their problems. Earlier, CDA chairman visited different areas of Sector G-9 and examined roads, parks, water supply system, sewerage system and grounds. He directed the concerned formations of the authority to repair the damaged areas. He appreciated the active participation of school children in the campaign and declared it a great omen for the elders and people from all walks of life.
